Capitalization of AFD 2050 Facility
Context
The 2050 Facility is a grant tool to support around 30 of the most vulnerable or emissive developing countries and was created in response to France's commitments at the One Planet Summit in 2017. More specifically, the Facility aims to (i) support the implementation of strategies and policies contributing to low-carbon and resilient development trajectories by 2050 (in line with the Paris Agreement), and (ii) maintain a strong dialogue with public authorities on their climate strategies. AFD is therefore commissioning a capitalization study to identify good practices and lessons learned from the 2050 Facility, as identified by stakeholders, and to produce a capitalization document to be shared with AFD's partners.
Objective
The assignment’s objective is threefold:
- To formulate recommendations and guide the project for a possible second phase of the Facility,
- Draw lessons from the work conducted and formulate recommendations for the revision of AFD’s Climate strategy,
- Promote AFD's actions to its partners, particularly for the COP27.
Our contribution
The following services were conducted:
- Framing of the study (documentary analysis, preliminary interviews, framing workshop, identification of capitalization axis and case studies, identification of key stakeholders)
- Collection and processing of capitalization elements (interviews, capitalization workshop, intermediary report elaboration)
- Finalization and graphic design of the final report (elaboration of 9 case studies, elaboration of the final report, graphic design of the produced elements, feedback meetings).
