Co-construction & participatory processes

At Espelia, we strongly believe in the potential of group dynamics. We are convinced that most answers to face complex challenges are to be found among local stakeholders and organizations. Our role is to make these answers emerge, by designing the best approaches so that everyone can contribute and take ownership of decisions.

Your challenges

Encouraging engagement

We believe it is essential to involve as many of the actors concerned by the change as possible, beyond simply providing information. While information is necessary, it is not sufficient to reduce uncertainty, to create a dynamic and to achieve a fully operational solution. Actively involving stakeholders (both internal and external) in the change process makes it possible to overcome eventual reluctance within a very short period of time. The more the stakeholders are involved, the more the change making process will be efficient.

Giving a meaning to the process

The mobilization and engagement of stakeholders (including elected officials, public officers, private companies, members of civil society, etc.) always give more sense to the global approach and allow a better understanding of the reasons for the proposed changes and transformations to be co-designed.

Share a diagnosis, generate contributions, and take action

Participatory approaches can be used at different stages of a project. They can be used to ensure that a diagnosis’ key takeaways are shared, to take advantage of the participants’ experience and innovative ideas, and to prepare for a project’s operational phase by mobilizing soon enough those who will be responsible for its implementation.

Our solutions

For several years now, Espelia's consultants have been evolving from a "doing" approach to a "doing with" approach. Our participatory tools and methods are now used in most of our assignments.
