Espelia supports the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) in Egypt
Espelia consultants were in Cairo last month to start a technical assistance mission for the NAT, the authority in charge of developing and operating Egypt's urban and interurban transport megaprojects. Since its creation in 1983, the NAT's portfolio of projects has grown impressively: metro lines, tramways, and soon Light Rail Transit (LRT), monorail and high-speed lines.
Espelia has been recruited under AFD financing to support the NAT in improving its business model and optimizing its organization to be able to adapt to new challenges (change of status and mandate, multiplicity of projects, new financial challenges, new skills to be acquired in-house, etc.).
A legal, institutional, organizational and financial diagnosis will be carried out by the consultants, along with a benchmark of comparable entities. This analysis will enable to identify a change management scenario in collaboration with the NAT and the consultants will support the NAT employees in its operational implementation.
