Espelia's international team of experts are back from a field mission in India where they carried out a study on waste management for AFD - Agence Française de Développement.
With the help of the Environmental & Social expert Amit Goswami, they conducted around fifty interviews and site visits in the cities of Ranchi, Surat, Indore, Visakhapatnam, and Delhi, and discovered a variety of municipal waste management models.
The findings of this field mission will be used to develop a typology of possible investments for AFD under the program CITIIS 2.0. This program, designed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, AFD, and KfW, and steered by the National Institute of Urban Affairs, includes a national call for projects that will provide around fifteen Indian towns with fundings for a municipal waste and circular economy project.
