Espelia and its partners support the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF)

Espelia and its partners support the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF). The GIIF is a financial institution created in 2014 and owned by the Government of Ghana to finance infrastructure projects in Ghana.

The French Development Agency (AFD) has approved a credit line to the GIIF to finance sustainable development projects. A consortium led by Espelia has been recruited to manage a Technical Assistance Program aimed at facilitating the implementation of the AFD credit line. Eligible projects will contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation and/or concern social services such as health, education, telecommunications, and social housing.

During the month of June, Espelia’s consultants and their Ghanaian partners were in Accra to help the GIIF developing its project’s portfolio and pipeline with sustainable infrastructure investments. As part of capacity building activities, a training on climate change and a participatory workshop have been organized to co-design the future GIIF’s “climate strategy”. Following this second field mission in Ghana for the GIIF, Espelia would like to thank the GIIF’s staff for their commitment and fruitful exchanges.
